Catch Paul and his friends in an evening of impromptu jam and revelry. Buffet and Show $60 + HST…

Paul Langlois (guitarist for The Tragically Hip) is set to release his 2nd solo album, Not Guilty, on Langlois’ own independent record label, Ching Music, on November 5th, 2013.

Not Guilty was recorded in early June 2013, over a six-day period, at The Hip’s Bathouse Studio in Bath, Ontario. Bathouse engineers Aaron Holmberg and Nyles Spencer recorded and mixed the album, which was produced by Langlois. According to Langlois it was a far different experience for The Tragically Hip guitarist to record than was his first solo effort Fix This Head.

Grant Fullerton at the Cove Inn

The 4th Annual RETURN of the GREAT “GRANT FULLERTON” formerly of Canadian Classic Rock Band “Lighthouse”!

To watch Grant Fullerton perform is to experience a one man powerhouse. His unique style and unparalleled guitar playing has to be heard to be believed. He performs a variety of songs from the sixties to the nineties with passion and conviction.

In December 1969 Grant Fullerton and Pinky Dauvin joined Skip Prokop and Paul Hoffert in Lighthouse, a 13-piece rock group combining horns, violins, cellos and vibes with the traditional rock and roll instruments of guitar, bass and drums. The band debuted at the Rockpile in Toronto on May 14, 1969.
They signed a contract with RCA Victor shortly thereafter, released three albums on Victor before moving onto GRT. Fullerton left amidst their biggest hit period.

Grant would also go on to play in such low-key acts as Mudflat and Friends before putting together Fullerton Dam with drummer Steve Negus (who would to on to gave fame with Saga) and who released one album on Condor Records called ‘Breaks’ before disbanding.

He also tried his hand with The Madcats who released several records in the late ’70’s before going solo as Grant Fullerton. The solo stint led to the release of the single “Lenny” and Grant put a backing band behind him to tour. The Grant Fullerton band would later get signed to Freedom Records and release several singles from the EP ‘My Mind And My Music’.

Logan Brown and Taylor Angus at the Cove Inn

One Man Band, Funky Fingerstyle Guitar with Neo-Soul Vocals! That’s these two talented musicians…
Logan Brown is a guitar player and singer/song-writer unlike any you have ever heard. Blending the lazy backbeat of funk, the virtuosity of fusion, and the story telling of soul and blues he is a spectacle to witness live, the listener is taken on a journey through decades of influence and transported to the future.

Getting his start in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario, Logan donned a pseudonym that would later evolve into a full fledged character, in the same vein as Ziggy Stardust or Sasha Fierce, called NUBS. After releasing three records under this name Logan realised it was time for a change.

After the release of his second EP “Spend The Night” Logan found himself putting away the bells and whistles he used to use when writing and beginning to extract all that he could out of his voice and his guitar. Instead of thrusting the listener into this brand new NUBS, Logan decided it was better to put an end to the pseudonym and continue his story without the nickname.

Logan still performs all of his music released under NUBS as well as brand new songs pushing the boundaries of music and guitar playing. As a full time professional musician he is always writing and learning, no two shows will be the same, the only option is to catch Logan whenever and wherever he is playing next.

Hear him here with his fiancée and musical partner Taylor Angus. She sings like an angel.

Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour 2019 – 48th edition

Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour takes place on June 8th & 9th, 2019. Every year, the Ottawa Bicycle Club has organized an annual cycle tour from Ottawa to Kingston and back over a two day weekend in early June.

This event attracts approximately 2000 riders from all over Ontario and Quebec and beyond. We offer the riders a number of route options and accommodation/meal selections. Route distances from Ottawa to Kingston vary from the 174km ‘Classic’ to the 211Km ‘Challenge’. An optional 102Km ‘Century’ can be had with a Perth start.

The target for many riders is Queen’s University where they enjoy great food and accommodation and, of course, the camaraderie and socializing at the end of the first day on the ‘sunny’ grounds of this historic university.
