Virtual Land Art BioBlitz

 

Join us for this FREE 3-day virtual, family-friendly event on backyard biodiversity and land art. Using the principles of a choose-your-own-adventure, the day you plan is entirely up to you. You are encouraged to mix and match your favourite offerings for a good old-fashioned outdoor (and indoor) adventure.

With a selection of live interactive video streaming sessions and pre-recorded webinars, paired with print-and-build land art activities, print-and-hike self-guided hikes (that can be done in any neighbourhood), backyard bioblitzing packages that teach the basics of identifying species, and iNaturalist guides, there is sure to be something for everyone. Open Tech Time

 

Our tech troubleshooter is available most Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the main branch in Elgin to provide one-on-one support with any tech problems you encounter.

This is an open, drop-in style session for questions or problems you may have with devices, gadgets or using our computers.

Story and Playtime

 

Parents and caregivers with children birth to 6 are invited for play, literacy activities and storytime, first and third Tuesday morning at the Delta Branch. Drop-in and always free! An early years nurse from Country Roads Community Health Centre will be available for baby or child check-ups and breast feeding support at some sessions.

Country Rocks at the Cove!

 

This is our first venture into one of Eastern Ontario’s best live music rooms. Hoping our regulars come on out for some dinner and dancing. Its going to be a great night!

While this group of musicians have been friends a long time it was only the summer of 2017 that the idea to play together was born. After a total of two rehearsals we hit the stage for our first gig and it was obvious that we were onto something. Four distinct voices all capable of singing the lead, blended together for some sweet sounds. The set list came together quickly and is evolving constantly.

Shawn McCullough’s Wings ‘n Quarintunes

 

Shawn McCullough will continue his Facebook live “Wings ‘n Quarantunes” every Sunday from 4-7pm. This is a weekly virtual event in place of the “Wings ‘n Open Mic” night that he normally runs at the Cove.

Here is a little bit about Shawn (in case you don’t know how awesome he is):

Master guitar player/singer/alternative lyricist/showman/songwriter Shawn McCullough helps you break up your work week and give you a little social fix. Shawn has played and toured with Canadian Country star Jason McCoy (The Roadhammers) and has been a part of Telecaster supergroup The Telebastards featuring Steve Piticco, as well as a member of DoubleBack with Wade Foster and John Wilberforce. He is highly in demand as a session musician and sideman for his incredible skill, wit and stage presence. He has a solo record to his name “This is Me” and has performed recently with rising CMAO and CCMA nominated Country star Brea Lawrenson!
