Rideau Lakes Studio Tour

Discover the art of creative minds at work on Canada Day weekend! Enjoy incredible original art, sculptures, pottery, weaving, carving, painting much more. As always, the Rideau Lakes Studio Tour promises to be a spectacular showcase of the region’s finest artists.

The quaint hamlets and villages of Rideau Lakes offer breathtakingly beautiful countryside and waterways. A perfect day or weekend to enjoy meandering, picnic lunch along one of the locks, in a local park, or an overnight stay in one of the many accomodation options. Stop in for lunch at one of our wonderful cafes or waterfront restaurants.

Our art is motivated and stimulated by the natural beauty of the waterways, culture, and history of this part of eastern Ontario. Here, in the surroundings of the Rideau Canal, a National Historic Site, and an Ontario UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can explore these roots, and enjoy the unique creations produced by our local artists in an extensive range of styles and media.

Artists look forward to sharing their creations with you. Browse artist’s studios and view some of the magic that awaits.

The Rideau Lakes Studio Tour celebrates over 25 years, and promises to be a spectacular showcase of the region’s finest artists. Taking place on Canada Day weekend, June 29 & 30th 2024, the event will feature more than 20 artists opening their studios to the public, allowing visitors to see how these talented creators work their magic.

The tour will take place throughout the beautiful Rideau Lakes region, providing an opportunity for visitors to explore the natural beauty of the area while also discovering some of Canada’s most talented artists. From painters and sculptors to potters, weavers, beaders and carvers, to glass workers and more, the tour promises something for everyone, and visitors will be able to meet with the artists, learn about their creative processes, and even purchase their work.

The Rideau Lakes Studio Tour is a beloved annual event that showcases the rich artistic talent of the region. Over the past 25 years, the tour has become an essential part of the cultural landscape of the area, drawing visitors from across the country and around the world.

One of the unique features of the tour is that it allows visitors to experience the artists in their creative environment. By opening up their studios to the public, the artists provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their processes, allowing people to learn how their art is made. For many of the artists involved in the tour, it is an opportunity to connect with their audience and share their passion for their work. By showcasing their art in their studios, they are able to create a more intimate and personal experience, making it an unforgettable event for all involved.

The Rideau Lakes Studio Tour is not only a celebration of art and creativity, but it is also an opportunity to support the local arts community. By purchasing artwork directly from the artists, visitors can contribute to the growth and success of the creative economy in the region.

As the tour celebrates over 25 years, it is clear that it has become an essential part of the cultural fabric of the Rideau Lakes. The event brings together artists, visitors, and the community in a celebration of creativity, talent, and passion, making it an experience not to be missed.
