2nd Annual Westport Green Street Challenge

Fetch Murphy Way in Westport turns into temporary park on Saturday, June 30, 2018!

The Westport Firefighter’s Association has partnered with MAVEN Marketing & Communications to host the second annual Westport Green Street Challenge on Saturday, June 30, 2018.   This event is run in collaboration with Come Alive Outside to celebrate the importance of outdoor, unstructured play by laying sod and transforming Fetch Murphy Way (at Main and Spring Street) into a temporary park for the day.

The event will run from 10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday, June 30th with a FREE BBQ lunch served by the Westport Firefighter’s Association from 11:00am – 1:00pm.  An Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 11:30am in The Spring Gazebo.

Children (those young and young at heart) are welcome to enjoy a day of games, face painting and unstructured play on the shores of Upper Rideau.  Saturday, June 30th is a day when children will be encouraged to play in the street!

This event was highly successful despite the inclement weather last year and we are expecting another tremendous event this year.  Start your Canada Day Weekend celebrations with us in Westport as we celebrate the importance of green spaces and outdoor play!
